KLJ Earns 2020 Merit Award for Bituminous Surfacing Project

The Princeton Municipal Airport’s project for the Reconstruction of Runway 15-33 has been awarded a 2020 Merit Award from the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) in partnership with the Minnesota Asphalt Pavement Association.  KLJ provided design and construction engineering services for the project, which was judged best in the Intermediate Airport category. The award nominations were judged by both MnDOT and the Minnesota Asphalt Pavement Association.

The Princeton Municipal Airport is one of only seven North Memorial Air Care locations in Minnesota, transporting patients to the North Memorial Level 1 Trauma Center. This award-winning asphalt project was completed in 2020 and consisted of reconstruction of deteriorated pavement for the airport’s primary runway.  This project was completed in conjunction with the City of Princeton, MnDOT, and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
