KLJ Engineering LLC (KLJ) is excited to announce that Jake Braunagel, Aviation Group Leader recently earned his American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) Certified Member Program (C.M.) certification. 

Jake Braunagel, Aviation Group Leader, was recently recognized by Prairie Business Magazine (PBM) as a recipient of their 40 Under 40 of 2023.

August 19 is National Aviation Day. To commemorate this special occasion, we sat down with Amber Channel, aviation associate planner and certified remote pilot, based in our Rapid City, SD office, and Andrew Zielike, aviation planner and certified remote pilot, in our St. Paul, MN office, to highlight a little-known area of the KLJ team: our UAS team.

Congratulations to Awesome KLJer Kent Penney on passing his American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification exam! This exam is the final step in becoming a certified planner through AICP after meeting specific education and experience requirements and submitting an essay.

We are excited to announce the recent promotion of both Travis Wieber and Shane Steiner, who will now serve as Delivery Directors for Transportation and Aviation, respectively. Additionally, we are pleased to welcome Chris Krafft, who recently joined KLJ as the Telecommunications Delivery Director.

KLJ is proud to be among the presenters for this year’s South Dakota Airports Conference taking place virtually this week. KLJ aviation planners Matt Nisbet and Andrew Zielike will lead a discussion on wind analysis for airport planning projects and why it is necessary. Additionally, KLJ aviation project manager, Jake Braunagel, will present information on precision approach path identifiers (PAPI) discussing everything from proper PAPI design to FAA flight inspection information.

KLJ Engineering has hired Matt Mamura as an Aviation Market Manager in their St. Paul office. In this role, In this role, he is responsible for developing strategy to enhance opportunity with new and existing clients.

KLJ Engineering is proud to welcome three employees to their Grand Junction, CO office. Marc Kenney, Cole Miller, and Dean Cooper are the first of many in the company’s newest Colorado location.

The Princeton Municipal Airport’s project for the Reconstruction of Runway 15-33 has been awarded a 2020 Merit Award from the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) in partnership with the Minnesota Asphalt Pavement Association.

Gary serves as the newest member to our production leadership team as Right-of-Way Department Manager. Kris is a Business Process Manager with Technical Services.
