Environmental Protection Agency Brownfields Assessment Grants

The United States Environmental Protection Agency has released the 2018 guidance for applications for Brownfields Assessment grants. A brownfield site is defined as real property, the expansion, redevelopment, or reuse of which may be complicated by the presence or potential presence of hazardous substances, pollutants, contaminants, controlled substances, petroleum, or petroleum products, or is mine-scarred land. Assessment grants provide funding for developing inventories of brownfields, prioritizing sites, conducting community involvement activities, conducting site assessments, and developing cleanup and/or reuse plans related to brownfield sites.

 

Eligible Applicants: Units of local government, land clearance authority or quasi-governmental agencies, redevelopment agencies, and Tribes

 

Award Ceiling: $200,000
