PROJECT
The City of Mandan selected our team to assist with environmental, design, right-of-way, and construction services. The reconstruction plan included replacing the existing road with a multi-lane urban roadway section that included lighting, pedestrian, and bicycle facilities.
SOLUTION
Lighting was designed as an LED system to meet lighting standards, minimize power consumption and reduce future maintenance costs. Improvements included replacing roadside ditches with urban curb and gutter with storm sewer drainage. Landscape architecture was also an important element, as there were opportunities along the corridor for landscape enhancements. Our team worked with the City of Mandan to develop a sustainable landscaping plan that minimized maintenance while providing a visual enhancement to the corridor.
RESULTS
As a result, since 2016, residents and visitors to Mandan now have a safer way to access the newer residential development in Northwest Mandan including the Red Trail Elementary School.
