KLJ Engineering LLC (KLJ), is pleased to announce that Derek Bendickson has been promoted to KLJ’s Environmental Team Leader.

KLJ Engineering LLC (KLJ) is pleased to welcome Ken McCarron to our Englewood, Colo. office. Dr. McCarron joins our team as a Group Leader and Senior Environmental Specialist and has 30 years of experience working in the environmental, terrestrial, aquatic, and natural resources sectors.

Environmental remediation is an important aspect of engineering safe and reliable infrastructure projects. Remediation is the process of removal and cleanup of hazardous substances including contaminants or pollutants from water (groundwater and surface water), soil, and other media.

KLJ Engineering (KLJ) is pleased to announce that Chad Petersen, Senior Project Manager in Valley City, was recently honored with the 2022 North Country Trail Association’s (NCTA) Trailblazer Award. The award recognizes businesses and individuals who represent a forward-thinking vision and demonstrate invaluable support to the NCTA and the North Country National Scenic Trail (NCNST), the longest trail in the National Trail System stretching 4,800 miles across eight states from North Dakota to Vermont.

KLJ Engineering is proud to announce that Senior Project Manager Bryan Field recently earned his Professional Engineer (PE) license in North Dakota and Engineer McKenzie Butcher has earned her PE in North Dakota, South Dakota, and Colorado.

We are proud to welcome Jackie Dylla as Vice President (VP) of the company’s Environmental & Corridor Services division. Dylla will lead the division from KLJ’s Saint Paul, MN office.

Carbon capture, or carbon sequestration, is receiving a lot of attention in the news and in Congress. In short, carbon capture is the process of taking carbon dioxide from manmade facilities and storing it deep underground. This reduces the amount of carbon dioxide that makes it into the atmosphere, which can slow the accumulation of greenhouse gases and the effects of climate change.

KLJ is proud to welcome Ryan Miller to our Englewood, Colo. office as a senior project manager. He will be located in KLJ’s Denver Metro office.

KLJ is proud to announce that Jess Karls will now serve as a Production Director for the company. In this role, she joins KLJ’s existing production director team, and is responsible for implementing production practices that help grow KLJ and will focus on development training and geographic growth for the organization.

KLJ Engineering is proud to announce that Government Relations Specialist Becky Bey has completed all required coursework to become a Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) certified professional through the National Institute of Crime Prevention (NICP). She is one of only six professionals with this certification in the state of Montana. 

We are excited to announce that Curt Cady in our Bismarck office has accepted the position of Aviation’s Area Manager! He will oversee the growth and development of KLJ’s technical professionals in aviation.

We are excited to welcome Dr. Chris Davis to KLJ! Chris joins the team as an archaeologist, and is located in our Englewood, CO office. He is an expert in archaeological excavation, zooarchaeology and taphonomy, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), technical reporting, and digital techniques in archaeology, just to name a few.

The Grafton Flood Risk Reduction Project Lifted the City of Grafton, ND out of a 100-year Floodplain. KLJ is proud to announce that the Flood Risk Reduction Project for the City of Grafton, ND has received a 2021 Engineering Excellence Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies of North Dakota (ACEC/ND).

Both will speak on the benefits of engineered well pads and access roads as part of the KLJ-sponsored conference.

KLJ is proud to announce that Corie Ereth, Senior Environmental Planner, has received a permit from the United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) that allows her to complete Dakota skipper butterfly presence/absence surveys.
