About Us > History
Kadrmas, Lee & Jackson (KL&J) was founded in 1938 by visionaries Louie and Mary Ellen Veigel. They began operating from the basement of Stark County Courthouse in Dickinson, ND. Together, they offered engineering services across the Dakotas and Montana. They built their reputation through strong work ethic and building and maintaining client relationships.

Today, KL&J is an employee-owned company. We remain loyal to the company's founding principles: dedication to nurturing and building long-term client relationships and providing quality service. Our dedication has allowed us to consistently grow and expand. Today we operate in 14 offices across a five-state region.
