Greater Minnesota Public Infrastructure Program

Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic DevelopmentThe Greater Minnesota Public Infrastructure Program has $3,616,000 available through the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development for 2012. This program provides grants to cities of up to 50 percent of the capital costs of the public infrastructure necessary to expand or retain jobs in the area, increase the tax base, or expand or create new economic development. Eligible projects include publicly owned infrastructure which supports economic development projects, including wastewater collection and treatment, storm sewers, utility extensions and streets. Economic development projects include manufacturing, technology, warehousing and distribution, research and development, agricultural processing and industrial park development.

Eligible Applicants: Statutory or home rule cities outside of the seven-county metropolitan area.

Match Requirement: 50 percent

Award Ceiling: $1 million per two years

Deadline: Applications are accepted on an open basis.
